Exploring Communities Through Photovoice: Empowering Atlanta's Impacted Neighborhoods

what

This Photovoice project will explore how residents of Atlanta have been impacted by systemic and structural violence in the built environment.

The residents will examine how where they live, work, and play impact their well-being through photographs that they capture and written narratives about their lived experiences.

West Atlanta. 30310. Student change-makers. We will be working with residents of Capitol View, the West End, and students of the AUC (Atlanta Clark, Morehouse, and Spelman College).

why

The zip code 30310 was one of the most impacted areas by mortgage fraud during the financial crisis. They experienced disproportionate investor speculation, divestment and are resource poor. Despite these circumstances these intown neighborhoods are cultural hubs.
